CHRISTOPHER LANE
 

Since graduating in Technical Production Management at Queensland University of Technology, Christopher has worked as a stage manager and props maker for several theatre companies including the Queensland Theatre Company, Grin and Tonic Theatre Troupe, and Harvest Rain Theatre Company. Christopher’s multifaceted artistic abilities have enabled him to work successfully in theatre, film, and television. He has made costume props, constructed concept models and miniatures on films such as Scooby-Doo, Inspector Gadget 2, Ghostship, Peter Pan, House of Wax and Superman. Christopher has worked as an Art Director for the second and third series of Toybox and Lab Rats Challenge for Channel 7. His ability to design and construct life-like puppets has seen him make puppets for several productions including Ninjago: Realm of Shadows (Legoland, Malaysia); Maximum Choppage (ABC); and Crocamolé Croc and the Strawberry Sisters (Channel 10). In children’s theatre, he has thoroughly enjoyed performing as a puppeteer in The Red Tree and The Paw for the “Out of the Box” children’s festival.  His love of puppetry has been further realised in puppeteering on the children’s television series New MacDonald’s Farm (Channel 9), Raggs (Channel 7), Five Minutes More (ABC) Magical Tales (Channel 9); Hiccup & Sneeze (Northern Pictures Production) and as Dash for The Justine Clarke Show (ABC).  Christopher also had the pleasure of puppeteering for The Creature Technology Company on the arena spectacular Walking with Dinosaurs that toured Australia, United States, U.K., Europe and Japan.  In 2020 Christopher thoroughly enjoyed being part of the conceptual development and performance of The Lost Balloon. Christopher’s current role is that of Senior Museum technician at the Queensland Museum where his varied skills, including puppet building and puppetry of ‘Webster’ the human sized peacock Spider have played a significant role in drawing crowds to the Museum.
